hope and healthcare

Every year living under occupation is a struggle for children in Palestine. But 2020 has been exceptionally hard.

Whether they are living under the threat of annexation in the West Bank, deprived of adequate healthcare in unliveable Gaza or struggling in  overcrowded and unsanitary camps in Lebanon, the added threat of COVID-19 will be making their lives even harder. Yet, despite this extra layer of suffering, support like yours is giving Palestinian communities a reason to believe.

In densely populated Gaza, cases of community transmission of the virus are on the rise. In Lebanon, following the explosion in Beirut, there has been a staggering 180% increase. And, in the West Bank, fractured communities are dealing with a further 25,000 cases. MAP is responding to overwhelming medical needs affecting all three areas of operation simultaneously.

Our teams are working hard to prioritise infection control and protective equipment for health workers as we try to slow the spread of the virus.

A gift from you today means that we can keep up this momentum as well as safeguard our vital children’s services – neonatal, midwifery and malnutrition – so that the very youngest Palestinians are protected.

Your support is keeping the hopes of Palestinian children for the future alive. Please send a gift today. Thank you

Zakat donations to Medical Aid for Palestinians

There are many occasions throughout the year that people choose to send Medical Aid for Palestinians a donation to help Palestinians in need.

Over the years, the annual Medical Aid for Palestinians Ramadan appeal has provided considerable benefit to some of the most vulnerable and marginalised Palestinians communities in Lebanon and occupied Palestine.

How does Medical Aid for Palestinians use Zakat for the benefit of those most in need?

Many medicines and other medical items are in desperately short supply in the occupied Palestinian Territory. MAP is responding by helping to provide as many urgently needed disposables, medicines and equipment as we can. We can only do this thanks to the financial support we receive from supporters like you.

MAP will use 100% of all Zakat donations we receive to help respond to the current medicines emergency in Gaza and in the West Bank. Your Zakat donation will be used to buy the medicines, medical items and equipment that hospitals need right now. When you make your donation, please ensure you tell us that it is Zakat.

You can make your Zakat Gift have greater impact by adding Gift Aid to your donation.

If you would like to discuss your donation further please contact us on 020 7226 4114 or info@map.org.uk
