One Trek to rule them all…

100 km, 29 people, 9 days, 1 Palestine

This spring MAP took a group of brave trekkers to the West Bank as part of our newly launched fundraising challenge – Trek Palestine.

Here we tell the story of one our trekkers, Rosa. Originally from Spain, Rosa decided to train and trek to raise vital funds in support of the health and dignity of Palestinians. Rosa explains why she decided to do her fundraising challenge for MAP;

“MAP is an organisation that I really admire and respect, they have been around for 30 years working for the health and dignity Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees.”

Rosa’s hard work and dedication meant that she hit her fundraising target and beyond! She managed to raise a fantastic £3,030.80 instead of her original target of £1,600. All funds went directly to MAP programmes helping the medical needs of Palestinians.

Throughout the Trek, Rosa was a constant source of joy for the group with her unending smile, strength and laughter, and she was always quick to support any of the trekkers who were struggling with the hills, the heights or the heaviness of the political situation. As one of the happiest participants we’ve ever had on our trips, Rosa brought us all much laughter.

Did you like this story? Due to high demand and the popularity of this challenge, we are having a second Trek in October 2019. There are still a few places remaining, book yourself in now and don’t get left behind!

MAP has lots of amazing fundraising ideas and also a busy schedule of challenge events coming up. Please see this page for more details.
