Aimee Shalan, Chief Executive of Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP), will step down in the summer after four years in the role due to the need for intensive and prolonged rehabilitation following back surgery last year.
Talking about her experience as CEO, Aimee said:
“I am extremely proud of what MAP has achieved over the last four years. Prior to Covid-19, we managed to scale up operations during extremely challenging times and extend the reach and impact of our work during a series of crises in the occupied Palestinian territory and the refugee camps of Lebanon.
“MAP is a unique organisation, providing immediate aid to those in great need, while developing local capacity and skills and advocating for meaningful action to ensure the barriers to Palestinian health and dignity are addressed. I have been very lucky to work with such a committed and dynamic team and we would not have been able to achieve all that we have without such wonderful friends and partners.
“While I am immensely sad to be leaving, I will support MAP in other ways and look forward to seeing the organisation continue to thrive over the coming years.”
