Sarah Eldon steps down as MAP’s Chair of the Board

Sarah Eldon has stepped down as Chair of the Board of Medical Aid for Palestinians for personal reasons.

“Chairing the Board has been the greatest honour,” Eldon said. “August this year marked seven years since I was accepted onto the Board, and so much has happened and changed during my tenure. I am so proud of the care that MAP provides for Palestinians in the most challenging circumstances.”

“I will continue to support MAP and the Palestinian people as an active Board member of MAP, and do all I can to help the organisation and its incredible staff going forward.”

The Board warmly thanks Sarah for her time as Chair and records their deep appreciation for the dedication, commitment and passion she brought to the role.

Richard Makepeace has been appointed as the Acting Chair of the Board and will be overseeing the recruitment of our new permanent Board chair.

“Sarah’s leadership and energy will be greatly missed,” said Makepeace. “She has always been completely dedicated to MAP both as a trustee and as Chair, where she has seen the Board through challenging times. We are delighted that she is able to stay on as a Board member.”
