Human Rights Action Centre,

London, EC2A 3EA

Event starts at 7.00pm (doors open from 6:45pm).

There will be a reception after the Q&A.

What will be discussed?

The human rights landscape for Palestinians is in deepening crisis as this June marks 50 years of Israel's military occupation. The cumulative impact of half a century of dispossession, violence, barriers to healthcare and violations of international human rights and humanitarian law is exacerbated by the absence of legal accountability.

Medical Aid for Palestinians, Lawyers for Palestinian Human Rights and Amnesty International UK are honoured to host two eminent experts to examine the international context and assess what can be done by relevant actors and civil society.

Who will be speaking?

Professor Michael Lynk is an associate Professor of Law at Western University in London, Ontario. He was appointed UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian territories occupied since 1967 in March 2016, and took up the position in May 2016.

Geoffrey Bindman founded the leading law practice, Bindmans, and throughout his distinguished legal career has specialised in civil liberty and human rights issues. He was knighted in January 2007 for services to human rights and in March 2011 appointed honorary Queen’s Counsel.

Hope to see you there!
