Dos and Don'ts when fundraising for MAP

The following guidelines have been compiled and approved by Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) to benefit our supporters when interacting/engaging with people in the public. It is imperative that individuals’ behaviour and language, when representing MAP, is in line with the organisations' values and principles and do not contravene our objectives as an organisation, or which might damage our reputation.

MAP's vision statement

“MAP's vision is a future where all Palestinians can access an effective, sustainable and locally-led system of healthcare and the full realisation of their rights to health and dignity.”

• Always refer to MAP as a humanitarian and development organisation.
• MAP opposes racism in all its forms, including anti-Muslim hatred, anti-Semitism and xenophobia, and any form of discrimination whether based on race, religion, nationality, race, gender, sex, colour, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, conscience, belief, culture, language and birth.
• Remain cram when being provoked and do not engage in any abusive behaviour or language.
• MAP supports and delivers health and emergency aid programmes in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) and in Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon.
• MAP works in five programmatic area; Essential Primary Healthcare, Women and Children’s Health, Mental Health and psychological support, Disability and Emergency response.
