Imagine living in an area with no hospital or GP clinic. No one place to visit with a health complaint or concern. Nowhere to go in case of a medical emergency.
This is the case for Palestinian communities in the South Hebron Hills in Area C of the West Bank. The nearest medical centre is 20km away across incredibly rugged terrain, but there is very little transport infrastructure for Palestinians.
In June 2020, MAP started funding a mobile clinic to bring a lifeline to isolated communities in the South Hebron Hills. The clinic brings essential health services to people every week. Reaching over 2,700 people in the South Hebron Hills, the new mobile clinic provides vital medical support to people who might otherwise go without. For many, the very existence of the clinic provides stability in an increasingly harsh environment.
The clinic also distributes masks and disinfectants, and delivers education sessions on COVID-19 and the importance of preventative measures. This has been vital during a year that has seen the pandemic spread rapidly in the West Bank, especially in Hebron.
Your support can bring lifesaving healthcare to vulnerable Palestinian communities and help stock the mobile clinic with basic equipment, medicines and disposables on a regular basis. Please make a donation today. Thank you.
If you wish to make this a Zakat donation, please make sure you tick the 'Zakat' box below when you make your donation. MAP will use 100% of all Zakat donations we receive to help respond to the current medicines emergency in Gaza, West Bank and in Lebanon. Your Zakat donation will be used to buy the medicines, medical items and equipment that hospitals need right now.
