The UK Government has now recognised the clear risk that Israel is using UK-made arms components to violate international law in Gaza. But until it ends all arms transfers to Israel, the UK remains complicit in Israel’s war on Palestinians, and acts that UN human rights experts and the International Court of Justice have concluded may plausibly amount to genocide.
On Monday 2 September, the UK Government announced the suspension of 30 arms licenses out of 350 export licenses to Israel, a testament to the determination and commitment of campaigners like you over the past 11 months. But a partial suspension is insufficient given the clear and compelling evidence that the Israeli military is committing violations of international humanitarian law, including war crimes. Importantly, it excludes components used in F-35 fighter jets which have attacked so-called “safe zones” in Gaza.
The UK Government must go further, and immediately end ALL arms transfers to Israel and prevent UK complicity in violations of international law. There are no excuses for delaying action to protect civilians from atrocities.

For over 11 months, Israel’s indiscriminate military bombardment and siege have continued unabated. More than 41,000 people have been killed and 66% of buildings have been damaged or destroyed. Israel’s use of starvation as a weapon of war, and systematic attacks on healthcare and vital infrastructure, are making Palestinian survival impossible.
Unless this is stopped, Gaza will become uninhabitable, even if a ceasefire is reached.
Since the new UK Government came to power on 4 July:
Israeli forces have killed over 3,600 Palestinians and injured more than 8,900.
The Israeli military has attacked schools sheltering displaced people at least 27 times, killing more than 270 people.
There have been at least 30 attacks on healthcare.
1.9 million people remain driven from their homes.
The first case of polio has been confirmed in a 10-month-old baby.
