Over 100 people in the UK, Palestine and around the world have joined Medical Aid for Palestinians’ (MAP’s) #IsolatedButTogether campaign, to stand with Palestinian health workers battling coronavirus.
In March MAP launched a campaign, to show Palestinian health workers that though many of us around the world are isolating at home to stop the spread of coronavirus, and they are isolated from the world by the military occupation and blockade, we are #IsolatedButTogether.
We’ve been delighted by the solidarity so far shown to Palestinian health workers, and have highlighted some of our favourite #IsolatedButTogether selfies below:
“Solidarity from our frontline to yours.”
Health professionals and key workers from the frontline in the UK have sent messages of support to those on the frontline in Palestine.
“Solidarity from Scotland, my thoughts with colleagues and friends in Palestine."
One health worker standing with Palestinian health workers is Dr Jane Macaskill, a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee, Scotland. For the past three years, Jane has been travelling to the West Bank with MAP to support the development of Palestinian breast cancer care.
“To medical workers worldwide keeping us healthy as we battle coronavirus, thank you. And to Gazan and Palestinian health workers especially, despite it all, you haven't wavered in your commitment.”
Our partners in Gaza, the Social Developmental Forum, have also joined the campaign, sending messages of solidarity from Palestine to the UK.
In Lebanon our community midwives have also taken part amid their busy schedules, as they continue to provide essential care to expectant and new Palestinian mothers amid the coronavirus pandemic.

We’ll will be taking your selfies to Palestinian health workers, making sure those on the frontline in the fight against coronavirus feel supported, not just by the Palestinian public they are serving but the international community too. By standing together we are all stronger against the coronavirus pandemic as well as against attacks on health workers.
