This year, Medical Aid for Palestinians will be taking part in a series of events at party conferences to raise the alarm about the health and humanitarian catastrophe in the occupied Palestinian territory, and call for action from the UK to address it, including an end to all arms transfers to Israel to prevent their use in violations of international law.
If you are a pass holder, we hope you will join us at the following events:
Empress Room, at the Grand Hotel | Tuesday 17th September | 13.00-14.00
Medical Aid for Palestinians will be joining ActionAid UK to discuss why health, gender and human rights need to play a crucial role in the UK’s humanitarian and political response to the crisis in Gaza.
Hall 2C, the ACC | Monday 23 September | 19.00-20.30
Medical Aid for Palestinians will be joining Labour Friends of Palestine and the Middle East to host the Annual Palestine Reception. Join us to hear from a range of speakers on the case for human rights, international law and accountability in the occupied Palestinian territory.
Please note: for those of you that may have already received your Conference Guide, MAP has ended our planned partnership with New Statesman, and therefore cancelled our fringe event with them on Monday 24 September. This is because of the New Statesman's partnership with companies reported to have supplied military technologies to Israel, and therefore incompatibility with MAP's values and advocacy priorities. MAP is currently campaigning for a suspension of all arms transfers to Israel, a call we will be taking with us to Labour Party conference.
We will update supporters with details of a new fringe event soon.
In August, MAP joined SNP Friends of Palestine for a panel event at the SNP Annual Conference. The panel, chaired by Chris Law MP, discussed the critical health and humanitarian situation in the occupied Palestinian territory resulting from Israel’s bombardment and siege of Gaza and de facto annexation in the West Bank, and outlined key steps the SNP can take to pursue justice and accountability for Palestinians.
