Email your MP: urge the UK Government to support Palestinian women with breast cancer

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is encouraging supporters to write to their MP, to call for action to address the needs of Palestinian women affected by breast cancer.

With dwindling medical supplies in Gaza – including of chemotherapy drugs – and restrictions on the exit of patients to specialised hospitals in the West Bank including East Jerusalem, Palestinian women living under Israel’s unlawful 11-year closure of Gaza face many barriers to effective treatment and care.

You can read more about these challenges in our latest briefing.

The UK Government can help save the lives of Palestinian women with breast cancer by:
  • Facilitating knowledge-sharing between British and Palestinian cancer specialists;
  • Providing support to the sustainable development of cancer services in Gaza and across the oPt, investing in long-term infrastructure and the development of technical skills for health workers; and
  • Pressing the Government of Israel to lift restrictions on free movement of patients and health workers throughout the oPt, and ultimately end its unlawful closure of Gaza.
